What does the relationship test check?
Five things that keep a couple going: how you talk about problems, how much you trust each other, whether you still have real fun together, whether the everyday work at home is shared fairly, and whether you back each other's goals and friendships. Each question has four answers from weak to strong.
It is for anyone in a relationship of any length. People in year one use it to see where they stand, people in year ten use it to check for things they have stopped noticing, and people in a rough patch use it to work out whether the problem is one area or everything.

How does the relationship test work?
Think of your current relationship and go through the 10 questions, picking the answer that is true this month, not the one you wish were true. The quiz adds up your answers and shows one of three results with a short, plain explanation: up to 11 points is Room to Grow, 12 to 21 Solid Team and 22 or more Rock Solid.
If you want a fuller picture, ask your partner to take it separately on their own phone and compare. The individual questions matter more than the label. Two people who both say arguments never really end have learned something useful in under two minutes.
What questions are in the relationship test?
They are practical, not poetic. Some examples:
- How do you two handle problems: not at all, only when it explodes, or openly even when it is hard?
- How much do you trust your partner: completely, mostly, with doubts, or do you check up on them?
- When did you last have genuine fun together: this week, last month, or you cannot remember?
- Who does the chores at home, and is that a constant fight or roughly fair?
- How do your arguments end: with a compromise, with one of you giving in, or never?
What is the difference between the relationship test and the toxic relationship test?
The relationship test measures strength: communication, fun, trust and teamwork in a relationship that is basically okay. The toxic relationship test looks for specific warning signs like control, blame, isolation and fear. If your relationship test result is room to grow and some of your low answers were about feeling nervous or watched, take the toxic relationship test next. If they were about boredom and chores, you do not need it.
Why do people take a relationship test online instead of just talking?
Because talking is the hard part, and a quiz is a low-stakes way to find the words. Plenty of people look for a check-in after the holidays or a long summer, when they take stock. Couples in the US and UK often take it after a podcast or a TikTok about healthy relationships; in India and the Philippines it is common before engagement or when families start asking questions. Many people take it alone first and then show their partner the result as a way of saying ‘can we talk about this?’ without starting a fight. The 10 questions give both people the same vocabulary, which is most of what a good conversation needs.
Relationship test FAQ
Is the online relationship test accurate?
It is honest in a narrow sense: it reflects the answers you give. If you answer truthfully it will point to the right areas. It is not a validated psychological instrument, and a result should be treated as a prompt for a conversation, not as a professional assessment.
What do room to grow, solid team and rock solid mean?
Room to grow means several of your answers described avoidance, imbalance or doubt. Solid team means most areas are healthy with one or two weak spots. Rock solid means you picked the strongest answer almost everywhere, which describes a couple that talks, trusts and still enjoys each other.
Can I take the relationship test without my partner knowing?
Yes. There is no link to send, no account and no notification. Many people take it privately first and only mention it if the result raises something worth discussing. Your answers are not stored on a profile, so nothing is left behind.
Should we take the relationship test together on one phone?
It is better separately, so neither person influences the other's answers. Afterwards, compare question by question. Where you agree, fine. Where you picked very different answers, that is the conversation to have, and it is usually a calmer one because the quiz raised it rather than either of you.
How often should I take the relationship test?
Every few months is plenty. Relationships move slowly, so a weekly result would just reflect your mood that day. Some couples take it on their anniversary as a small ritual and note which areas improved since last year.
Does the relationship test work for a long-distance relationship?
Yes, though read the chores question as sharing effort in general, like who plans visits and who keeps the calls going. The questions on trust, communication and support are especially relevant at a distance, where those are the whole relationship.
Is the relationship test free and does it need an email?
It is free, there is no email and no signup. Open the page, answer 10 questions, read your result. You can also retake it immediately if you realise you answered one question the way you wished rather than the way it is.
