Someone calls you their best friend, but could they pass a best friend quiz on your comfort food, your biggest fear and how fast you reply to a text? The best friend test settles it. You answer 10 questions about yourself in about a minute, get a personal link, and send it to the person who thinks they know you best. They guess, they get a score out of 10, and the result tells them whether they are a stranger, a good friend or your actual best friend.

People use it for the obvious reasons: to prove a point in a two-person rivalry, to see whether a friendship has survived different cities or different schools, or just because someone in a sleepover got bored at 1am. It also works as a gentle way to tell a new friend that they are becoming an important one.

There is no download and no account. You make it, you share it, and the scoreboard fills up as your friends play.

What is the best friend test and who should take it?

It is a quiz about you, written by you, answered by your friends. The questions cover things a bestie absolutely should know: morning person or night owl, cats or dogs, which superpower you would pick, what you order to drink. Each friend who plays lands in one of three result tiers depending on how many they get right.

It is aimed at best friend pairs, but it is just as good for a whole friend group, a sibling who insists they know you better than your friends do, or a partner who wants to prove something. Teenagers use it after school, students use it in hostel groups, and plenty of adults send it to the friend they have had since primary school.

How does the best friend test work from start to finish?

First you enter your name. Then you go through 10 questions, each with a short list of answers, and pick the one that is true for you. When you finish, the site builds a unique link and a share screen with buttons for the apps you already use.

Your friend opens the link, types their own name and sees the same questions, except now they are about you. Every match adds a point. Three or fewer correct answers makes them a stranger, four to six a good friend, and seven or more puts them in best friend territory. Your scoreboard ranks everyone by score, and you can open each friend's answers to see where they went wrong.

What questions are in the best friend test?

Here are a few from the set of 25, so you know what your bestie is up against. None of them need insider secrets, they just need attention.

  • Which colour do you pick first: red, blue, green, black, pink or purple?
  • What is your comfort food on a bad day: pizza, noodles, chocolate or ice cream?
  • Coffee, chai, bubble tea or an energy drink?
  • What are you most scared of: spiders, heights, the dark or public speaking?
  • How fast do you reply to a message: instantly, within the hour, or seen and forgotten?

Why do friends send each other the best friend test?

Because it answers a question people secretly ask all the time: do they really know me? A high score is a small, real compliment, and a low score is a running joke you can bring up for months. It spreads through group chats after exam season, during school holidays and on long bus rides, and it is a favourite for birthdays when someone wants to prove they are the official best friend. Across the US, the UK, India and the Philippines the pattern is the same: one person makes it, three people argue about the results, and then everyone makes their own.

Questions to ask your best friend

Out of things to talk about? These questions always start a good conversation:

  • What was your first impression of me?
  • Which of our friends would survive the longest in a zombie film?
  • What is something you have never told anyone?
  • What is my comfort film?

How do I see my friends' answers?

  1. After you make your quiz, tap “Check Scores 🏆” on your share page. You see every friend's score, and 👁️ shows what they answered.
  2. On that page, copy “Your private scores link” and keep it, for example in your notes. It opens your scores in any app or browser.
  3. Don't open your own friend link and fill it in yourself: that link is for your friends. The site recognises you only in the app where you made the quiz, or through your private link.

Best friend test FAQ

How many questions does the best friend test have?

You answer 10 questions chosen from a pool of 25, and your friend answers the same 10 about you. The whole thing takes a minute to create and about a minute to play, which is why people often make a new one every few months as their answers change.

What score counts as a real best friend?

Seven or more out of 10 gets the best friend result. Four to six is labelled a good friend, which is still fine, and three or less is a stranger, which usually leads to a lot of excuses in the chat. The top 10 players also appear on your public scoreboard.

Can I take a best friend test with my bestie on one phone?

Not on one phone: a phone that made the quiz opens its own link as your share page, not as the game. Sit together, make the quiz on your phone and let your friend open the link on theirs. Afterwards they create their own and you guess theirs. It is a popular way to pass time on a road trip or at a sleepover when nobody wants to send links.

Is there an age limit for the best friend test?

No, and the questions are written to be safe for school-age players. There is nothing about dating, money or anything private, just taste, habits and everyday preferences. Parents and teachers often use it as an icebreaker for exactly that reason.

Does my best friend see my real answers after playing?

After each guess the player sees whether it was right, so by the end they know your true answers. That is intentional: the point is to learn something about each other. Only you can see the full breakdown of every player on the scoreboard.

Best friend test or friendship quiz, which one should I pick?

Pick the best friend test when you want a one-on-one showdown with a clear best friend label at the end. The friendship quiz is built for a whole group, with questions about how you behave in the crowd rather than about your personal taste.

Is the best friend test free and private?

It is free with no account and no email address. The link is only known to the people you send it to, and the scoreboard only shows the names players type in. If you want to retire a quiz, simply stop sharing the link and make a new one.
