Crush test: Does your crush like you back or are you reading too much into it?

You have replayed the same conversation in your head for three days and you still cannot tell. The crush test is a quick, private way to look at the actual signals. You answer 10 questions about how your crush behaves around you, like who texts first, how fast they reply and where they end up when the group splits, and you get one of three results: just friends for now, something is brewing, or totally into you.

Nobody else sees it. You do not send a link to your crush, you do not enter their name, and there is no account. It is you, your phone and a minute of honesty about what has really been happening, which is often more useful than another late-night chat with a friend who is only guessing.

It is just for fun and it cannot read minds, but it does make you notice patterns you have been ignoring.

What is the crush test and who is it for?

It is a self-test with 10 questions about observable behaviour: eye contact, texting, teasing, replies to your stories and whether they have ever suggested hanging out. Each answer carries a weight, and the total puts you in a cold, warm or hot result with a short explanation of what that pattern usually means.

It is for anyone with a crush and no clarity: a classmate, a coworker, the friend of a friend, the person from the gym, the one in your Instagram DMs. Most players are teenagers and people in their twenties, but a crush at forty feels exactly the same, and the questions work at any age.

How does the crush test decide whether they like you?

Each question has four options that move from no interest to obvious interest. Picking the options that describe a person who texts first, remembers small details and finds reasons to be near you adds up to a hot result. Picking the ones that describe a person who replies after days and sits across the room adds up to a cold one.

The result is based only on what you report, so the honest version of you gets the useful answer. If you catch yourself choosing the hopeful option instead of the true one, take it again and tell the truth. It takes a minute.

What questions does the crush test ask?

Here are some of the signals the quiz looks at. You will probably recognise a few from this week.

  • How often does your crush text you first: never, sometimes, often or every single day?
  • What happens when your eyes meet across the room: nothing, a quick glance, or a long look and a smile?
  • Does your crush remember the small things you mentioned weeks ago?
  • When the group spreads out, does your crush end up next to you or far away?
  • Have they ever suggested hanging out, even as a joke or only in a group?

Is the crush test accurate, or just for fun?

Just for fun, with a bit of common sense built in. The signals it uses are the same ones your most sensible friend would point to, but no quiz can know what another person feels. Treat a hot result as encouragement to start a real conversation, and a cold result as a reason to stop over-analysing and enjoy being friends. The only test that actually works is asking.

Why do so many people take the crush test at night?

Because that is when the overthinking happens. The quiz gets its traffic after school, after a party and in the hour after a text that could mean anything. Teenagers take it during sleepovers and pass the phone around so everyone's crush gets analysed, college students take it in hostel rooms, and people with office crushes take it on the commute home. In the US and the UK the question is usually does he like me or does she like me, in India and the Philippines it is often a crush who is also a close friend, which makes the result even more loaded. The quiz does not give a yes or no, it gives a nudge, which is what most people wanted anyway.

Crush test FAQ

Does my crush find out I took the crush test?

No. The quiz is private, nothing is sent to anyone, and you never enter your crush's name or contact details. You take it alone, see your result and decide what to do with it. Screenshots are up to you.

What do the three crush test results mean?

Just friends for now means the signals you reported are mostly neutral or absent. Something is brewing means there are real signs of interest mixed with uncertainty. Totally into you means almost every signal points the same way, and the only thing missing is someone saying it out loud.

Can I take the crush test about a friend I have known for years?

Yes, and many people do. Close friendships make the signs harder to read because a lot of the behaviour is normal for friends. Pay extra attention to the questions about texting first, remembering details and suggesting plans for just the two of you.

Is this a does my crush like me quiz for both boys and girls?

This is the same quiz for everyone. The questions are written without gender, so it works for a boy wondering about a girl, a girl wondering about a boy, and any other combination. The signals of interest do not really change with gender.

How many times can I take the crush test?

As many as you want, and it is worth retaking it after a few weeks. Behaviour changes, and comparing an old result with a new one is often more telling than a single answer. There is no account, so just open the page again.

Which quiz should I take if I want to know my own flirting skills?

That is the rizz test, which looks at how you behave, not at your crush. The crush test is about reading someone else's signals. Taking both gives you a funny but surprisingly useful overview of the situation from both sides.
