Everyone has a different idea of what a soulmate is, but most people agree on the feeling: silence is easy, you say the same thing at the same time, and after a day together you feel more charged, not less. The soulmate test asks 10 questions about exactly those moments and tells you whether you are still getting to know each other, a strong match or soulmates.

You take it alone, in about a minute, thinking about one specific person. It can be a partner of ten years, a relationship that is six weeks old, or the person you have not quite defined yet. Nothing is shared and no one is notified. The result is a playful label with a short explanation, not a verdict on your future.

People take this soulmate quiz on anniversaries, after a big fight, during a long train ride, or at 2am when they cannot sleep.

What is the soulmate test and what does it measure?

It is a self-reflection quiz about the quality of a connection: comfort in silence, how fights end, whether they know your flaws and are still around, who hears your good news first, how much you laugh. Each question has four answers from weak to strong, and the total gives you one of three results.

It is for people in a relationship or very close to one. It is not a matchmaking tool and it does not compare two names or birthdays. If you want to compare how similar your habits and plans are, the compatibility test is the better fit.

How does the soulmate test work?

Open the page, picture the person, and answer the 10 questions as honestly as you can. Nobody is grading you. The quiz adds up your answers and shows a result page with your label, a few lines about what that pattern of answers usually means, and a share button if you want to show it to anyone.

A good way to use it is for both partners to take it separately and then compare. If one of you gets soulmates and the other gets still getting to know each other, that gap is worth a conversation, and the quiz is a soft way to open it.

What kind of questions are in the soulmate test?

They are about moments every couple recognises. A few from the quiz:

  • How does silence feel between you: awkward, okay, comfortable or the best part?
  • Do you finish each other's sentences, or say the same thing at once?
  • After a fight, do you avoid each other for days or talk it out the next morning?
  • When you get great news, who hears it first?
  • After a whole day together, do you feel drained or recharged?

Why do couples take the soulmate test together?

Because the word soulmate comes up constantly, in songs, in films, in wedding speeches, and almost nobody checks whether it applies to them. The quiz is a one-minute excuse to do that. It is popular on Valentine's Day, on anniversaries, in the first weeks of a new relationship when everything feels like a sign, and during long-distance stretches when a couple wants a shared activity for a video call. In the US and UK it tends to spread on TikTok and Instagram stories, in India and the Philippines it travels through couple group chats and cousin groups where someone's new relationship is being thoroughly examined. The answer is rarely a surprise, but seeing it written down still makes people smile or think.

Soulmate test FAQ

Can a soulmate test really tell me if someone is my soulmate?

No quiz can. The soulmate test is a structured way to look at how your connection feels in everyday moments, and the result is a playful label. It is useful for reflection and for starting a conversation, not for making decisions about a relationship.

What do the three soulmate test results mean?

Still getting to know each other means the connection is early or uneven. Strong match means most of the signs of a deep bond are there. Soulmates means almost every answer you gave was the strongest option, which usually describes a couple who are very comfortable and very honest with each other.

Should both partners take the soulmate test?

It is more interesting that way. Each of you takes it alone, then you compare results and, more importantly, compare the questions where you answered differently. Couples often learn more from one mismatched answer than from the final label.

Can I take the soulmate test about someone I am not dating?

Yes. Some people take it about a best friend, a sibling or a person they are not officially with yet. The questions are about comfort, trust and laughter, which exist outside romance too. The result label will still say soulmates or match, so read it in that spirit.

Is the soulmate test the same as the couple test?

No. The couple test is a game where your partner guesses your answers through a shared link. The soulmate test is a quiet self-test about how your relationship feels, with no link to send and no score for anyone else.

How long does the soulmate test take and does it cost anything?

Ten questions, roughly one minute, free, and no account. You can retake it whenever you like, which some couples do once a year to see whether the answer has changed. Nothing is saved to a profile, so each run is a fresh start.
