What is a love calculator?
A love calculator is a classic internet game that turns two names into a love percentage. People have been typing their names into love testers and name compatibility tests since the early days of the web, and it is still one of the easiest ways to start a flirty conversation.
Our version is a simple love percentage calculator: it gives a percentage, a verdict and a short line about your match, and it lets you share the result with one tap.

How does the love calculator by name work?
It looks at the letters of both names and turns them into a number. The order of the names does not matter, capital letters do not matter and the result never changes for the same pair. There is no hidden data and no reading of your messages: just two names and a bit of letter maths.
What do the love percentages mean?
Every score falls into one of six verdicts:
- Up to 45 percent: Just friends?
- 46 to 55 percent: Maybe one day
- 56 to 67 percent: Cute crush
- 68 to 79 percent: Great match
- 80 to 94 percent: Head over heels, and 95 or more: Soulmates
Why do people send their love calculator result to their crush?
Because it is the easiest way to say I like you without saying it. A screenshot with 92 percent next to two names breaks the ice, and if the score is low you can always laugh it off. Friends also use it at sleepovers, test every name in the class and compare the results. Want something more serious after the joke? Take the compatibility test together.
Love calculator FAQ
Is the love calculator accurate?
No, and it does not pretend to be. The percentage comes from the letters of the two names, not from your personality or your feelings. Treat it as a fun game and a good excuse to start a conversation.
Why do the same names always give the same score?
The calculator uses only the letters of the names, so the same pair always lands on the same number. That way your crush sees exactly what you saw when they try it, and nobody can cheat by pressing again.
Does the order of the names change the result?
No. Alex and Sam give the same result as Sam and Alex. Capital letters and extra spaces are ignored as well, so only the names themselves count.
Can I use nicknames in the love calculator?
Yes. You can use first names, full names or nicknames. Each version is a different combination of letters, so it may give a different percentage. Most people use the name they actually call each other.
Is my crush's name saved anywhere?
No. We do not save the names. They are part of the link to your result page, so nobody else sees them unless you share that link.
What is a good love percentage?
Anything from 68 percent counts as a great match in this game, and from 95 percent you are officially soulmates. But a low score has never stopped a real love story.
